Slope lining
The honeycomb structure of StrataWeb® provides confinement to any infill and prevents it from being dislodged by the agents of erosion. StrataWeb® is a very versatile lining product and can work with various infill options such as concrete for a hard amour, soil with vegetation for an aesthetic green look in low velocity canals and reservoirs, or stone for cost effective lining.
Check dam
StrataWeb® geocells have several applications. One such innovative application is to construct a small check dam. The check dam is constructed to enhance groundwater recharge for the nearby farmlands. StrataWeb® being light-weight, handling is easy, and neither mechanised equipment nor skilled workers are required for construction. The spillway comprises a series of pipes below the crest, supplemented by a trapezoidal opening at one end.
One of the first check dams in South Asia was constructed near Satpara, Madhya Pradesh, India.
Drain lining/reservoir lining
StrataWeb® is our cutting-edge geocell lining solution for chute drains and canals along highways. It is a tough, flexible, lightweight, perforated polymeric confinement system which is transported in its collapsed form, then unfolded/expanded onsite to form a honeycomb structure which is then laid out precisely and packed with evenly distributed aggregate material, making it a surprisingly efficient and economical alternative to the usual cumbersome methods.

StrataWeb® geocells – A slope erosion protection system for embankments
The Jordan Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (MEMR) was planning to build a petroleum strategic reserves terminal in the east of Amman, Jordan. They wanted to increase the petroleum storage capacity in the area, which required an increase in the base width of the embankment. The slopes of the embankment required protection from slope erosion.
Slope protection of partial wall on flyover using StrataWeb® geocells
The ramps of the grade separators are constructed either as embankments with natural slopes or as reinforced soil walls. In the case of partial walls, where sloped embankments are supported on reinforced soil walls, the embankment slopes needed to be given adequate protection against soil erosion, which could otherwise damage the fascia of the underlying reinforced soil wall and also induce seepage into the system. The slopes of the embankments were of the order of 30° with the horizontal. The reinforced soil walls supporting the embankments were as high as 10 m. The heights of the embankments were of the order of 5 m.
Rehabilitation of road in the busy city town centre in Karnataka
Monsoons in North Karnataka are notorious for damage to roads. The site was plagued with problems like reflective cracks, potholes, undulating surfaces etc., resulting in slow traffic movement and heavy vehicular damage. This stretch had to be rehabilitated time and again over the past several years, and no solution was proving to be long-term. Since the area is a major commercial hub, it was impossible to close off this section for an extended period completely, so a quick but long-term solution was needed.
