OVERVIEW
Carrying great loads requires firm ground beneath your feet.
A port is a facility where ships can dock and transfer people or cargo to or from land. Port locations are selected to optimize access to land and navigable water for commercial purposes and for shelter from wind and waves. Often breakwaters are required to be constructed to provide such shelters. Ports with deep water are rare and it is essential to carry out capital dredging, followed by maintenance dredging. Deep waters to handle larger economical ships of higher capacity and larger drafts.
Ground improvement
Strata solutions for ground improvement are very versatile and can be engineered for very heavy container loads on soft subgrades and reduce differential settlements by a large margin thereby reducing operational inefficiencies. StrataWeb® can be infilled with stone, sand or other locally available materials and avoid the need for concrete slabs, offering high economy in the pavement. Be it for parking areas for trailers, bulk storage yards or heavy 8 stack container yards, Strata solutions can be custom engineered to provide a safe and durable solution.
Access roads
Access roads leading to a port are generally heavily trafficked and have low subgrade strengths leading to lower efficiency, increase in the operational cost and reduced turnaround times for container vehicles. Strata ground improvement solutions help in improving the bearing capacity of subgrades, reduce differential settlements, are easy and rapid to construct, can be engineered for site-specific challenges and can make use of locally available materials.
