Interlocking, self-aligning units for enhanced stability using StrataBlock™

StrataBlock™ reinforced soil wall is a composite system consisting of concrete block units in combination with a mass of soil which is reinforced and stabilised by StrataGrid™

StrataBlock™ wall units are self-aligning. They are cast with an inter-locking system in the form of an anchor shear key built into each unit which enables the alignment of blocks between two rows and connection to StrataGrid™.

The shear key also ensures consistent batter. Another key feature offered by StrataBlock™ units is the staggered hollows formed by the alignment of blocks, when filled with gravel behave as vertical stone columns (via aggregates) which adds additional stability to the wall. Reinforced soil walls with StrataBlock™ fascia and StrataGrid™ reinforcement are relatively flexible structures.

StrataBlock™ is dry-cast and because of its size and modularity, it provides a flexible fascia to the reinforced soil wall structure.

The height of StrataBlock™ also ensures better control on backfill soil layer thickness and compaction during construction
