Embankments over soft soils
Weak soils are always a concern on construction sites, however Strata can help overcome this concern with our expertise in working with different soft soil for constructing embankments and load transfer platforms across highways, railways, landfills, mining sites and others.
Erosion control
Erosion control is the practice of preventing or reducing water or wind erosion in highway embankments, land development, coastal areas, and site construction as well as lining slopes for reservoirs, storm water ponds and irrigation channels.
Roadway improvements
Roads get damaged due to extreme weather, inadequate drainage systems, and poor sub-soil conditions, creating the need for improvements. Roadway improvements include Greenfield construction, extension, enhancements, upgrades and rebuild of paved roads, access roads, runways and other pavements, to extend or renew the pavement life, and provide stabilisation.
Load support
Strong support is required at the subgrade of heavy load bearing surfaces such paved and unpaved access roads, container yards, load transfer platforms, crane pads etc. to prevent failures, control differential settlements, and better distribute loads over a wider area.
Reinforced steep slopes
Strata recognizes that maximizing land use is the most critical need and has a major cost impact on any site development. Challenges in resolving grade change on the site are increasingly necessary as land cost increases and the difficulty to develop property becomes commonplace. To address these challenges, we provide the technical basis and economic solution for severe slope challenges, problematic soil conditions and land development needs.
Retaining walls
Strata recognizes that maximizing land use is critically important to every site development project, and resolving grade change issues on site is becoming increasingly vital as land costs increase. StrataGrid™, combined with various vertical facing options provides a cost-effective and technically-sound solution for severe land challenges, problematic soil conditions, and other land development issues.
Landfill construction
As the population and urbanisation increases in developing countries, waste management has emerged as a major environmental challenge. Cities and industries produce more waste, yet the available land for disposal is increasingly expensive and frequently used for residential or commercial purposes. With the advancements in technology and manufacturing, the change in the type of waste has played a major role in driving the need for sophisticated waste management.
Drain lining / Reservoir lining
Civil engineers and contractors know all too well the woes that heavy rains can bring. Rainwater not efficiently transported can lead to failure of the railroad bed or highway pavement – slope erosion, dislodging of track ballast, and potholes and ruts in roads being some of the problems. Which necessitates an effective drainage system along railway tracks and highways.
