Strata Geosystems showcased Yarn to Bridge process at Bharat Tex 2024
As pioneers of geosynthetics manufacturing in India, Strata Geosystems took its products to India’s foremost textile event showcasing traditional and modern uses of textile in the country.
The Bharat Tex event was organised and promoted by the consortium of 11 Textile Export Promotion Councils and supported by the Ministry of Textiles, Bharat Tex 2024. The focus of the exhibition was trade, investment, and sustainability, which witnessed over 3,500 exhibitors, 3,000 buyers from 111 countries, and more than one lakh trade visitors.
Spread over 4 days, the event was a sensorial experience for visitors to understand the expanse of textile and its possibilities –spread across two venues – Bharat Mandapam in the heart of New Delhi, at Pragati Maidan, and India International Convention and Expo Centre (IICC), Dwarka. During the event, Prime Minister Modi and Minister of Road Transport and Highways of India, Nitin Gadkari visited Bharat Mandapam where Narendra Modi experienced our product, Strataweb®, a solution for soil reinforcement using a unique three-dimensional structure.
While most people are aware of the use of fabric and textile in everyday life, most remain unaware of how Strata Geosystems has been converting yarn to build everything – from bridges, roads, railways, landfills, access roads to mining industries, ports and other applications of geotextiles. The event presented an opportunity to showcase the uses of our products across industries such as roadways, mining, railways and other construction projects.
How geotextile engineering is used for sustainable development?
India has now been a progressive user of geosynthetics for a number of years now. At our manufacturing plant, we have produced 65+ Mil. sqm. to be deployed across projects around the world through our global client base. Our products which work for soil reinforcement, wall retention, and slope protection are designed and created to serve the needs of a rapidly growing nation seeking to find the best products for its vast landscape and uses.
What we showcased at Bharat Tex, 2024?
At Bharat Tex 2024, we had a significant presence in the technical textile sector with a large stall. This stall featured an interactive section where we created an experience zone. Here, users could view a 3D interactive model displaying all layers of our products and their role in enhancing the strength of roads, railways, ports, industrial areas, mining, and landfills.
We took this opportunity to bring to light how yarns are used to create geosynthetics that rival concrete and steel in strength and are being used for projects across the globe. Through our mini-demos for visitors we brought to life, in the the 100sq.mt area, our process, products, and miniature models to help visualise the uses of our marquee products such as StrataGrid™, StrataWeb® and StrataGrid™ Biaxial SGB— all created from yarns. We offered visitors live demos of the impact of using our geogrids through small scale plexiglass filled aggregate to demonstrate the strength of using these products in strengthening aggregate, or subgrade material by subjecting them to weight in real time.
On the last day, Minister Yogi Adityanath Ji came to Bharat Mandapam, where we showed a model explaining how we use our geosynthetic products in roads and railways. It was a great opportunity for the Strata Geosystems team to showcase our capabilities to global dignitaries, Indian ministers, bureaucrats, policy makers, global CEOS in a one of a kind platform –unlike any witnessed before. The venue was a multi-sensory treat for visitors who were unaware of the merits of geosynthetics in the realm of civil engineering and construction. Through the use of interactive videos, 3-dimensional replica models of our product applications for key industries such as landfills, mining, railways and roadways to help understand the use-cases of our products. From being able to touch and feel the yarns which go into the construction of massive projects, understand the process with live demos, and interactive videos, the set-up was an immersive experience into understanding the strides Strata Geosystem has made in the field of geotechnical engineering in its 30 years of existence.
As India’s largest builder of RS Walls with zero failure rate, the pioneer of geocells in India, and one of the largest manufacturers of geosynthetics in the country – the exhibition was a proud moment to highlight our engineering prowess that has enabled us to work across the globe, with over 500 clients, get recognised by leading bodies such as NTPEP, Department of Transport, United States, NABHL India, ISO certified, British Board of Agrement, New Zealand Transport Authority among a list of other industry leading bodies.
