OVERVIEW
Maximum efficiency and durability, arriving by express train.
Strata Geosystems strengthens railway embankments, stabilizes track beds, and enhances load-bearing capacity for heavy freight and high-speed trains. We also improve drainage management to prevent water-related damage

Steep slopes/retaining walls
Whether the situation of contention in cutting of land or creating an area by filling the land, our solutions are focused on the safety and viability of your project.

Embankment and ground improvement
Strata solutions are well-established to reduce the bearing pressures exerted by railway embankments on poor subgrades by spreading the loads uniformly over a wider area. This is a more economical option as compared to conventional solutions and presents a viable alternative in cases where intermediate improvement is required.

Track reinforcement
StrataWeb® and SGB grids, arranged in the ballast and sub-ballast layers or between one of these and the subgrade, reinforce the railway structure, maximizing its performance and minimizing intervention and repair costs.

Slope protection
Soil erosion is a major concern considering the integrity of the sub-ballast and ballast layers may be affected by severe cuts arising due to weathering.
StrataWeb® helps to prevent erosion by effectively confining the topsoil within its three-dimensional frame. Locally available fertile soil can be used as an infill which can be further vegetated to provide a green finish, thus avoiding the use of expensive stones for slope protection. Installation is extremely simple and five times faster as compared to stone pitching.

StrataWeb® geocells – A slope erosion protection system for embankments
The Jordan Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (MEMR) was planning to build a petroleum strategic reserves terminal in the east of Amman, Jordan. They wanted to increase the petroleum storage capacity in the area, which required an increase in the base width of the embankment. The slopes of the embankment required protection from slope erosion.

Slope protection of partial wall on flyover using StrataWeb® geocells
The ramps of the grade separators are constructed either as embankments with natural slopes or as reinforced soil walls. In the case of partial walls, where sloped embankments are supported on reinforced soil walls, the embankment slopes needed to be given adequate protection against soil erosion, which could otherwise damage the fascia of the underlying reinforced soil wall and also induce seepage into the system. The slopes of the embankments were of the order of 30° with the horizontal. The reinforced soil walls supporting the embankments were as high as 10 m. The heights of the embankments were of the order of 5 m.

Rehabilitation of road in the busy city town centre in Karnataka
Monsoons in North Karnataka are notorious for damage to roads. The site was plagued with problems like reflective cracks, potholes, undulating surfaces etc., resulting in slow traffic movement and heavy vehicular damage. This stretch had to be rehabilitated time and again over the past several years, and no solution was proving to be long-term. Since the area is a major commercial hub, it was impossible to close off this section for an extended period completely, so a quick but long-term solution was needed.
