Overview
What is Load Support?
Strong support is required at the subgrade of heavy load bearing surfaces such paved and unpaved access roads, container yards, load transfer platforms, crane pads etc. to prevent failures, control differential settlements, and better distribute loads over a wider area.
Applications of Load Support
Site challenges such as weak soils coupled with heavy loads often lead to uneven settlements and localised subgrade failures when constructed upon. These subgrades require additional stabilization in order to build high performance surfaces. These differential settlements and failures can be minimized using StrataWeb® and SGB Grid products that reduce the loading pressure by spreading the force uniformly over a wider area. StrataWeb® further enables the sustainable reuse of site won materials such as sands, ash, slag and other industrial by-products and reduces the requirement of expensive aggregates making it not only cost effective but highly environment friendly.
StrataWeb® and SGB grids can be installed in the base and / or sub-base layers for pavements to provide high performance and minimal costs.

The internal access road of the warehouse was damaged, and that was impacting daily operations at the facility. The client was looking for a solution that would open up access quickly. Challenges included differential settlement due to the movement of 60-ton silo trailers and the non-availability of large size stones rubble soling in the vicinity.
