The client desired the reconstruction of a section of Bathurst Street for the Regional Municipality of York in Ontario, Canada. This vital road to the city needed widening to allow free-flowing traffic through a previously bottlenecked area.

Strata’s geotechnical experts suggested Strata’s reinforced slope system that utilized both StrataGrid™ and StrataWeb®. The design flexibility enabled the project designers to seamlessly vary the batter of each slope and integrate the different facing elements.

Using StrataGrid™ as the primary reinforcement for both the StrataWeb® faced slope and the wrapped-faced slope allowed on-site soil to be utilized. The Strata Geosynthetic Reinforced Soil System (GRSS) added superior stabilization and cost savings to the project.
