In celebration of two decades of excellence, this October 2024, Strata Geosystems team looks back at the landmarks in its history.

As a symbol of the first step in this continued journey, Strata Geosystems, was established on the auspicious occasion of Dussehra in 2004, by Ashok Bhagnani. With a vision of being one of India’s foremost geosynthetic manufacturers, and a focus on a sustainable future in civil engineering, Strata Geosystems’s early days were defined by this approach.

A brief history of Strata Geosystems

Started in 2004, as a partnership with the US based Strata Systems, Inc., USA. Over a short span of 5 years, in 2009, we started manufacturing our own line of geogrid products which includes core categories of uniaxial and biaxial geogrids.

In 2012, a short three years later, we launched our proprietary product line for geocells or 3D cellular confinement systems –in the name of StrataWeb. Today, it’s a well-loved and used product around the world for a suite of applications. With a high weld-strength, and high weld strength with maximum consistency, its stability for slope retention and drain lining is industry leading in standard. This product delivers over 5,000 hours of ESCR (Environmental Stress Cracking Resistance), beating global standards and making it a one-of-a-kind offering from the company.

With the end of this decade, Strata Geosystems’s team decided to further expand its capabilities with the launch of the 3,20,000 lakhs Sq.Mt. manufacturing capacity, in Daheli, Gujarat. With a view to fulfilling the growing demand for high quality, certified products for geotechnical engineering, Strata Geosystems’s products have found buyers and associates, around different parts of the globe.

In 2022, the company once again expanded its manufacturing capabilities to 6.5 million sq. meters and also introduced StrataTex HSR™ & StrataDrain™ to meet with a growing consumer base of geotextile, and geocomposite project needs.

In 2023, Strata Geosystems received a patent on its StrataWall™ EC ( a state-of-the-art panel wall system for reinforcing walls) and StrataBlock™ 2E system (a modular precast concrete block which are self-aligning), revolutionizing the on-site precast concrete block construction for civil construction projects. Today, a project can get their pre-cast concrete blocks customized and have them installed onsite with ease, are extremely lightweight and suitable for extremely large construction projects on highways, and roads.

In 2024, we launched Stratosphere, our 3D interactive maps for the civil construction community, aimed at helping engineers understand the uses of geotechnical products and their uses across 4 industries, and 80 applications.

With every decade, the Strata Geosystems team has evolved its products and offerings to not only meet with global standards of excellence but also delivered products and systems that meet the demands of an evolving civil engineering community.
